Jennifer Stevenson writes about a lot of things, but one of the things she pretty much always writes about is sex. Usually the sex in her books is joyful, life-affirming, and full of laughter, and it's frequently also linked with magic. This is not one of those times.Jee's story is darker. It takes sex into some less happy places, including abuse, enough so that this story may merit a trigger warning. (It's not really a spoiler to say that we do also see some of the happy kind; it wouldn't be a Jennifer Stevenson book without that.) I found it compelling reading and polished it off in one evening; to be fair, it's really more of a novella than a full length book. The Kindle page count feels high and it includes a significant teaser for the next book in the series.
I've dinged it a star because it's so different from most of what Stevenson writes, and it's probably going to disappoint some readers because of that. This is not the place to start if you've never read any of her work, though as a second book in a series one wouldn't expect it to be.

I am so sad this went by so fast. Can't I go a little slower? Can't you write longer books or more? Just want to say I read ALOT and I rarely come across originality. You did good. So I close with a saying I do ("HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY and my dogs howl RAPPY, RAPPY, ROO, ROO"!)
After reading the first book in the COED Demon Sluts Beth, I couldn't wait to start it on Jee's story. I was not disappointed either, the words flew by, page after page! Who wouldn't want to have everything your heart desires!
This series is totally hitting it out of the ballpark!
I enjoyed this book but not as much as the first one. It isn't as funny as the first one.
having said that, I must say it is an entertaining read and you won't waste your money by buying it
Jee has been a succubus for a while, and is... helping... Reg adjust to his new life as onsite manager of the succubae, when his previous life comes back to haunt him. Jee and Reg both had horrible childhoods, and the book gets a bit dark in places. How can Reg rescue Jee from the rage she still feels due to her youth, if he's imprisoned? Jee rescues him first and they heal each other. Jee & Reg's relationship brings out the best in them and helps them deal with trauma.
There are some very dark places in the world. Jee and Reg had been slaves. Jee in Indonesia and Cambodia and Reg in Chicago. Reg had made a big impression when he first met the Sluts. they threw him off a balcony. When he came back the next day Jee took him in hand and made him the houseboy.
In this story two broken people find their missing soul. Don't forget too look out for tigers. Another great story
I loved reading some of Jee's background and at the same time learning more about Reg. They both had pretty rough childhoods. I feel like I need more information but maybe it will come later. What made Jee revert now? Where did the weretiger come from? Does her life get back on track?
I love Jennifer's writing style but felt I had too many unanswered questions by the end of the book. I hope I get answers in later stories in this series. This Jee seems so different from the one I met in Beth's story.
I just finished this book and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! It is a little darker than the Jennifer Stevenson books I'm used to but I felt in order to tell this story it had to be! Jee, the one who takes charge and tells everyone how it is and how it's going to be comes face to face with her past life and like most of us who have had to deal with bad stuff she deals with it in her own way. Reg, what can you say about Reg, well he has some stuff to deal with too and this story gives you that insight into some of what Jee and Reg have had to deal with. This story is poignant and full of finding your way back from the brink. It was funny and sad and dark but I think there was no other way to tell Jee's story. Fans I think you should give it a chance and I think you too will find out what I did, this is a great story!
